The way we produce food is changing.
And with it, the rooms in which they are produced.
Whether classic meat processing or the production of plant-based protein products – the demands on production environments are increasing. Hygiene, efficiency, flexibility: today, all of this has to be considered before a machine even runs. The Wirth Group accompanies this change as a strong umbrella brand – with a strategic perspective, interdisciplinary experience and an understanding of the special challenges of the industry. Together with our partner companies, we develop solutions that will still be viable tomorrow.
Hygiene meets flexibility: building spaces for tomorrow
The desire for higher productivity meets stricter hygiene regulations, rising energy prices and often limited space. Our task is to reconcile these requirements – from the basic assessment to the final building acceptance. Today, production facilities must not only be functional, but also modular. They must allow for growing product lines, make zones flexibly separable and meet the highest cleaning and air requirements.
Invitation to exchange ideas at IFFA 2025
IFFA 2025 is the place where we want to get in touch with partners, interested parties and decision-makers from the industry. We look forward to discussing individual requirements, new technologies and project ideas directly with you. Production spaces are changing – let’s talk about how you want to shape this change.
What challenges does your company face? What requirements do your customers have – today and tomorrow? At the Wirth Group stand, together with FoodTec Buildings and Schwan Projekt GmbH, we will be presenting how hygiene, efficiency and flexibility can be harmonized in terms of construction – for both meat and plant-based products. We look forward to hearing your ideas!
Three companies – one integrated approach
With FoodTec Buildings GmbH and Schwan Projekt GmbH, the Wirth Group has two strong specialists at its disposal: while FoodTec Buildings takes care of the structural implementation – from cold room construction to hygienic wall cladding and ram protection systems – Schwan Projekt GmbH is responsible for the planning basis. It develops layouts, zone logic and technical interfaces that are precisely tailored to the production processes. We see ourselves as a team – for well thought-out production environments without friction losses between planning and construction.
A look into the future: sustainability & internationality
Food production facilities need to be able to do more than ever before: they need to consume less energy, integrate digital systems and at the same time meet international requirements – whether for markets in Europe, the Middle East or North Africa. The Wirth Group not only builds for today, but also for tomorrow. Our projects show how smart solutions – from energy-efficient roof panels to multilingual planning tools – are actively shaping change.
Meat or plant protein – differences in detail
The processing logic for meat differs significantly from that for vegan alternatives: temperature control, humidity, crossing points of goods and people routes or the handling of water are key issues. It is important for us as a group to consider these differences in the planning phase. Because what is a safety standard for meat can be a process brake for plant products – or vice versa. The Wirth Group develops solutions that work for both product worlds or are intelligently separated.
Why the Wirth Group is your ideal partner
Innovative hygiene concepts for cheese dairies require a holistic approach – from structural measures such as cold room construction and façade construction to the use of modern surface materials (e.g. GRP) and cleaning or sensor systems. The Wirth Group is the right partner to combine these requirements and make cheese dairies fit for the future. Because only those who invest in comprehensive solutions can ensure the highest product quality and consumer protection in the long term.
